Professional Career & Mini Bio

Dr. Christine Darbellay joined Business School Lausanne at the end of summer 2023 where she teaches Business Mathematics and Calculus.

She is an actuary who has become a lecturer in mathematics. She holds a doctorate in Actuarial Sciences from the University of Lausanne.

She has been teaching Business Mathematics at the Faculty of Hautes Etudes Commerciales of the University of Lausanne (UNIL-HEC) for the past fifteen years. She has also taught Business Mathematics at the Haute Ecole de Gestion d’Yverdon (HEIG-VD) for ten years, at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and at the Haute Ecole de Gestion de Genève (HEG-GE).

Teaching is her passion, particularly Business Mathematics. She won the HEC Best Teacher Award three years in a row, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Before going into teaching, she worked as an actuary for Insurance Companies in Zurich and Lausanne for over ten years.

She is married and has four teenage and young adult children. Her hobby is modern dance, which she teaches in her spare time.
