Dr. Chaeho Chase Lee holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Business School Lausanne and a Ph.D. from Seoul Business School at aSSIST University. With over 20 years of leadership experience in the global manufacturing
sector—including key roles at POSCO—his expertise spans M&A strategy, investment decision-making, new business development and corporate strategy. He has led and supported projects totaling over USD 2.5 billion in deal value,
including large-scale M&As, greenfield and brownfield investments, joint ventures, and startup funding across the Americas, Middle East, and Europe. He has also driven strategic initiatives in battery materials such as lithium.
Dr. Lee’s research focuses on how internal capital accumulation enhances firm resilience and valuation during crises. He also empirically analyzes how different CEO career profiles—categorized as generalist or specialist—affect a firm’s long-
term competitiveness. He is currently extending his work to analyze the differentiated effects of U.S.-led tariff shocks and global downturns, as well as the role of AI investments as capitalized intangible assets shaping future corporate value.
His research has been recognized through publication in The North American Journal of Economics and Finance, an SSCI Q1-ranked journal (top 25%), and he serves as a peer reviewer for NAJEF and other international journals. He sees
intellectual curiosity as the art of staying young in spirit and believes that research is a journey to leave a lasting imprint on the world.
