Admissions Requirements and Deadlines

Our DBA candidates have solid professional experience and wish to investigate a topic in the domain of business sustainability. They have the capacity to express their thoughts in a structured and substantiated manner and would like to use this to sharpen their intellectual and trans-disciplinary thinking. Successful DBA candidates have the stamina and determination to commit to a research project over a long period of time.

Am I eligible?

If you can say "yes" to the following questions, then you are eligible to apply for the DBA program:

  • At least 5 years of post master’s relevant professional work experience (you can explain why you believe it is relevant)
  • Either a master’s degree in business or in a business related area, from a recognized university or institution or the equivalent in terms of significant work experience (for professionals over 40 years of age) in a senior position of responsibility including management experience, adding up to a minimum total of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Fluency in English (having worked or studied in English or a TOEFL IBT Level of 100 or equivalent).

We have an ongoing enrollment process and DBA candidates can submit their applications throughout the year, however we advise you to send your application file as early as possible in order to ensure a seat in the program.

Master degree or equivalent

Either a master’s degree in business or in a business related area, from a recognized university or institution and at least 5 years of post master's relevant professional working experience, including experience in business sustainability OR the equivalent in terms of significant work experience (for professionals over 40 years of age) in a senior position of responsibility including management experience, adding up to a minimum total of 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Official transcripts

Note: Foreign official degrees must be certified by a legal authority such as a Public Notary, with translation when necessary.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

An up-to-date curriculum vitae/resume (overview of studies, relevant working experience if any and activities). At least 5 years’ pre or post-master’s relevant professional work experience.

Motivation letter

A motivation letter/essay highlighting your perspective on your professional future, the reasons why you wish to study business, why you believe BSL is the right school for you and your goals and experience as they relate to higher education.

Recommendation letters

Two recommendation letters signed and printed on official letterhead paper) from employers. These letters should include, for example, your skills, dependability, personal character, and accomplishments.

Fluency in English

Fluency in English at  a TOEFL IBT Level of 100 or equivalent.

Copy of ID A copy of your passport or identity card.

Admission Process

Review the Admissions criteria - Before starting your application, read our admissions criteria and checklist.

Check the Application deadlines and Submit your application by email or by post. You can refer to the entry dates and application deadlines section.

Submit Application and supporting documents - Complete the DBA application form and attach the required application documents . You can submit your completed application online or by post

 Notification - Our Admissions Coordinator will contact you regarding your application status within two weeks.

 Interview - Your application file will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. If you are selected for the short list of candidates, you will be invited for an interview with the Dean. The interview can be conducted in person at BSL or by telephone/Skype.

Evaluation - Before you get fully accepted to the DBA program, you can realistically expect a 3-4-month evaluation phase. This includes the completion of the literature review and essay on state of the art. 

Final Decision - You will receive a full acceptance to the DBA program as soon as your essay is approved.
