Prof. Kevin Fox, a US/Swiss national, teaches at the Master’s level at BSL. After completing an MBA in International Finance at Babson College, Kevin began his career in finance with F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Basel. In 1992, he assumed the role as CFO of Roche’s joint venture in the former Soviet Union. Kevin supported the company through the transition from the command economy to the free market economy, through a period of hyperinflation and eventually the split of the joint venture.
Kevin returned to Basel in 1995 where he began business as an independent finance contractor. He has worked with small, medium and large corporations in interim operational finance positions. The birth of his children led him to take time off for his family and to pursue a Masters in Sustainable Development at the University of Basel, allowing him to learn the scientific language and to better understand global social and environmental challenges. During the course of studies, he pursued independent research into cutting-edge sustainable investing. His master thesis focused on sustainable agriculture in light of complex adaptive systems.
Since 2011, Kevin has supported business development with sustainability start-ups and continues his work in interim finance management. He is active in angel investing with Go Beyond Investing – as an investor, as deal lead for impact investing, and organizing events. Kevin is developing a framework to support corporations to understand how to incorporate ESG innovation into strategic, and tactical, business development.
Kevin is a passionate boxer and enjoys swimming, hiking and yoga. He volunteers his time to support educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Pakistan.
