Dr. Thomas Fischer
Prof. Dr. Thomas Fischer, Swiss, teaches Project Management at the BBA level at BSL. He holds a Doctorate in risk management (Business School Lausanne) as well as a Master of Business Administration (Simon School, Rochester NY). He lectures Risk and Project Management as well as Business Administration at different universities within Switzerland and abroad. In 2012, he has been nominated as the ‘most outstanding professor’ at the MBA course of the University of New York in Prague.
For the past 20 years Prof. Fischer has been focusing on turnaround and chance processes. After having been active in different roles in financial and turnaround projects, his current field of activities is the company-internal optimization of processes as well as the design and implementation of roadmaps to manage strategic targets into operational profits (strategic execution). Besides the financial management he manages complex and international large-scale projects.
As a management consultant, Dr. Thomas Fischer was responsible for the implementation of risk management solutions and management information systems (MIS) for public and corporate companies. Under his leadership as interim manager several turnarounds of companies have been achieved as well as major strategic and IT projects have been implemented. He has been active on senior & executive management positions as well as on the board. His activities allowed him to get a broad experience in different size of companies, from multinational corporations to small mid-sized, local-acting companies.
Today, Dr. Thomas Fischer is primarily active as financial interim manager and as senior risk assessor or manager for big and complex projects. Based on his enormous experience some of the largest companies trust on his analytical skills to assess risks and challenges being imbedded in their key projects.
