Professor Dr. Maria Paula Cacault teaches Economics for Business at the Master level at BSL. She holds a Licence in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires, and a MSc in Economics and a PhD in Microeconomics from the University of Lausanne (UNIL). Dr. Cacault has worked in economic research institutions in Argentina, as well as reputed Swiss universities such as the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva. She is currently Head of operations at Enterprise for Society (E4S), a new joint venture of UNIL, the Institute for Management Development (IMD) and EPFL.
Dr. Cacault’s main area of expertise is individual decision making when agents are not fully rational and the role of the social structure in that process. More broadly, she has done research in the areas of applied microeconomics, micro-econometrics, and the economics of education. She is currently contributing, through E4S, to speeding-up the transition towards a more resilient, environmentally responsible and inclusive economy.
