Dr. Jan Erik Meidell is professor at Business School Lausanne (BSL) and gives lectures HEG Geneva, the Applied University of Sciences in Seoul and at IMD with courses in finance, statistics, data analysis and AI.
Dr. Meidell is a certified trader and market maker on Eurex and Euronext. He started as a high frequency trader for Timber Hill and Interactive Brokers. During 8 years, he was active as a derivative market maker (high frequency, proprietary trading) on European and US exchanges, where he developed and programmed AI trading strategies. After this, he worked his way up to a position as a CFO (approved director with Swiss Financial Authorities). In 2009, Dr. Meidell founded an investment fund with two colleagues. The fund is growing steadily, is profitable and has today 10 employees.
His academic career includes completing the Swiss National Bank’s PhD course in economics and econometrics for doctoral students and he has a PhD from NHH (Norwegian School of Economics) and the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
