Join us in congratulating Dr. Nicolas Rouiller, a long-time law professor at BSL, on the publication of his latest book, International Business Law. The book, designed for both students in economics and management studies and law practitioners, is a synthesis of over ten years of teaching of Professor Rouiller at Business School Lausanne, at the Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch and at the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation.

The book is an introduction to the legal instruments and to the legal environment of business from an international perspective. It is primarily based on the international legal sources that nowadays shape an increasingly universal understanding of the legal instruments which managers have to use in order to fulfill their responsibility of conducting companies, including in their daily operations. It describes the fundamental legal mechanisms by which commercial and financial transactions are formed, secured and implemented. It also deals with legal aspects of strategic business decisions that orient on the long run the development of an enterprise, such as choosing the appropriate corporate structure or acquiring and using intellectual property. Besides, it aims at facilitating the managers’ access to the legal environment of business, which includes constitutional liberties, non-contractual liabilities, criminal law, and judicial procedures, considered from the viewpoint of their practical implications.
