BSL Releases Sustainability Update Report

Business School Lausanne published its 2014 Sustainability Update Report – a comprehensive overview of the school’s progress in key areas set by the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative. The report addresses the Six Principles or PRME: Purpose, Values, Method, Research, Partnership, Dialogue. These principles are inspired by internationally accepted values, such as the United Nations Global Compact’s Ten Principles, and provide an engagement structure for academic institutions to advance social responsibility through incorporating universal values into curricula and research. They seek to establish a process of continuous improvement among institutions of management education in order to develop a new generation of business leaders capable of managing the complex challenges faced by business and society in the 21st century.

The BSL 2014 Sustainability Update Report contains a summary of the school’s latest developments in responsible management education, research and thought leadership. Such achievements include a full revision of the Bachelor of Business Administration program to embrace sustainability as an underlying core of the program; launching a new post-graduate program in sustainability (Diploma in Sustainable Business) in collaboration with University of St. Gallen and in the context of the WBSCSB; introducing a strong focus on business sustainability in the Doctorate of Business Administration program; hosting community events to inspire public dialogue around sustainability; and redefining the school’s research vision which is now centered around contributing to the key issues of our planet in the 21 century.

BSL has been a member of the PRME since November 2010. The school releases a PRME report on progress once every two years.
