Dr. Nugent, DBA graduate of BSL, has just published a paper with co-author Dr Gilbert Werema - “Does Profit Maximization Impact Sustainability? – An Examination”. The paper examines the relationship between profit maximization and sustainability within the framework of the life cycle phenomenon for a corporation. The importance of the work of business schools in this regard is noted. Business School Lausanne’s sustainability initiatives and our membership and participation in the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI ) are highlighted in Dr. Nugent’s paper.
Dr. John. H. Nugent, LLM, CPA, CFE, CISM, FCPA received his DBA from Business School Lausanne and he is currently a tenured Associate Professor in the School of Management at Texas Woman’s University (TWU), Denton, TX..
Prior to teaching at TWU, John served as a tenured Graduate School of Management (GSM) associate professor in the College of Business, University of Dallas where he also served as founder and Director of the University’s National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance, a National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security designated educational center. John also served as the GSM Director of the MBA in Information Assurance, the MM in Information Assurance, and MS in Information Assurance degree programs. While serving in the above GSM capacities, these programs collectively constituted the largest graduate program in the United States in Information Assurance. John is also served as a professor at James Madison University’s Graduate School of Management’s MBA program where he developed and teaches a course in Managerial Digital Forensics.
Previously, John served as a partner in a national accounting firm, a managing director of a venture capital firm, as well as CEO and Board of Director Member of several Fortune 10 subsidiaries with responsibility for operations/sales in some 90+ countries. John additionally served on several American Bar Association sub committees that research and publish on Information Security matters.
John is widely published and serves as a national speaker for many regulatory and commercial enterprises on matters dealing with telecommunications policy, auditing, forensics, fraud, internal controls, and information security. John has been recognized for his work by universities, governments and major publications including having his company selected by Defense Electronics for its ‘10 Rising Stars’ award, and by the Republic of France with the award of the “Diplome de Citoyen D’Honneur” amongst others.
