Business Schoo Lausanne was appointed the exclusive representative of the Kofi Annan Business School Foundation in Switzerland in 2012. As part of the foundation, BSL strives to provide talented and motivated students from developing countries with superior business education free of charge through its full-time Master’s and MBA degree programs. Upon return to their home countries, the Kofi Annan Fellows are expected to contribute to the strengthening of entrepreneurial capacity and the fostering of a stable market economy as an effective catalyst for their country’s development, job creation and poverty alleviation.
BSL welcomed its first Kofi Annan Fellow - 26-year old Diana Kilel (Kenya) – into its full-time MBA program in February 2013. BSL granted another full scholarship award to Mahlubandile Dyonase (South Africa) who started his master’s studies in Finance in September 2013 (read his story here). In 2014, BSL received its third scholarship fellow, 25-year old Angus Goliath from Zimbabwe.
The Kofi Annan Business Schools Foundation was established in 2007 with the support of former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan. It is a joint initiative of the Public Advice International Foundation (PA International), Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School (Vlerick) and Hogeschool Utrecht University of Applied Sciences (HU). The Kofi Annan Business Schools Foundation has selected one business school per country to collaborate with in this initiative. The academic partners were chosen on the basis of vision, academic study programs, research and geographic location.
