Is "sustainability" a buzz word? Is it simply in fashion to talk about a sustainable future? At BSL, we believe not!
The world is at a turning point. Social and environmental changes are demanding new solutions in the coming decades. In 2007, humanity's footprint exceeded the earth's bio capacity by 50%. By 2025, we will need the equivalent of 2 planets to sustain the consumption patterns of global citizens. Business is considered to be part of the problem, yet business leaders often don't know how to embrace sustainability.
New challenges require new competencies. New competences arise from assuming new perspectives and envisioning new solutions. New challenges also require new leadership skills. Subject expertise needs to be complemented with the ability to drive change and implement new solutions across organizational boundaries.
At BSL, we offer you three different program options to help prepare you to lead the sustainability agenda in business and beyond.
Diploma in Sustainable Business
This innovative program provides participants with a unique opportunity to reflect on the major challenges that our planet, society and businesses face in the coming decades. The Diploma in Sustainable Business is a 1-year, executive, part-time program that provides a joint degree from the University of St. Gallen and Business School Lausanne and is offered in collaboration with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Participants will evaluate how companies can adapt their strategy and operations to embrace the sustainability challenges and to manage the risks and opportunities in a responsible way. MBA in Sustainable Business
The MBA in Sustainable Business is a 1.5 year, full-time program. After six months in the classic MBA program, students join the Diploma in Sustainable Business program. Upon completion of this extended MBA, participants graduate with an MBA from BSL and the Diploma in Sustainable Business offered by BSL and the University of St. Gallen. The sustainability focus of the BSL MBA provides a comprehensive framework of general management skills in addition to the understanding of the role of business in resolving the challenges our planet faces in the coming decades.

Executive MBA in Sustainable Business
The Executive MBA in Sustainable Business is a two year part-time program. The first year follows the classic "Foundation Part" of the EMBA program and the second year joins the innovative Diploma in Sustainable Business of BSL and the University of St. Gallen. More on E/MBA in Sustainable Business
