Introducing the BSL Student Council 

 

 

Interactions among students is part of what makes BSL a special place to study. Meet the students serving on the BSL Student Council:

Bart Favre grew up in Lausanne where he studied at the Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande. Bart came to BSL to study business as he sees himself soon as an entrepreneur. Bart enjoys travelling and discovering new cultures, having visited 4 continents and over 20 different countries. To embrace the feeling of liberty, Bart would like to soon earn a Private Pilot License. If not studying, you can find Bart at his favorite restaurant le Relais de l’entrecôte in Geneva.

Rishab Thakrar is a first year student of Indian ethnicity who was born and brought up in Kenya. He spent the first quarter of the year exploring Lausanne and plans to spend the rest of his time taking advantage of Switzerland’s central location by driving across borders to other European countries. He also looks forward to learning how to ski in Verbier. Other than at BSL you can find Rishab at the Box Club on Saturday nights where he works behind the bar. In the future he plans to pursue a post graduate degree after which he plans to return home to Kenya.

Chayenne Wiskerke is in her last year at BSL. This 20-year old Dutch woman who was previously active in the show jumping sport is currently focusing on her studies. After BSL, Chayenne will pursue a graduate degree which will create a good basis for her job later on in her family’s company, Wiskerke Onions. She’s proud to offer a voice for students .

Ahmad Mughrabi likes to make things simple. For everything that seems like the end of the world, he claims there's a simple solution. He hopes to one day be a successful real estate mogul. Ahmad wants to build skyscrapers, big mansions, and even hotels on the moon. But for now, he is taking everything step-by-step and learning as much as he can. Ahmad likes good food, football (not American), and good company.

Cristina Giampaolo is a native of Toronto, Canada and moved to Lausanne to participate in BSL’s MBA program. Cristina began her university studies in the field of Humanities with a passion for history and culture; she enjoys travelling and meeting new people. After taking some part-time business classes while working, Cristina discovered her interest for studying business. Cristina joined the student council in hopes of meeting fun and interesting people and is pleased with the outcome!

Kamal Elrayyes is a Palestinian who grew up in Saudi Arabia. He wants to end up in a multinational company where he would be able to travel the world. His dream is to one day be able to see his homeland at peace. Kamal has loved business for years, and this drive is what led him to BSL. After graduation, he plans to continue his studies or to work somewhere in North America, perhaps California.

Michelle Mattsson is in the final year of the MBA program at BSL. Prior to coming to BSL, she studied Swiss Law for 3 years. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, playing the piano and reading about foreign countries. She has a passion for skiing and loves the snow and the Alps. Her mother tongues are German and English, whereby her background is international—a Swedish father and a mother from New Zealand. Michelle grew up in San Francisco but now considers Switzerland home.

Boubacar Diallo was born and raised in Guinea, West Africa. He went to the International School of Conakry until the age of 13 when his dad felt it was time go abroad. Boubacar then left for Switzerland to attend the Leysin American School. Four years later, Boubacar graduated from LAS and started BSL in September 2009. For Boubacar, the transition to BSL was challenging in studying on the university level, yet he is on the right path and looks forward to succeeding.
