BSL Ranks 40 in Best European Business Schools

QS (Quacquarelli Symonds Limited), ranks Business School Lausanne number 40 among the top European business schools 2009. Previously known as the “Global Recruiters Top Business Schools,” the employer-choice based ratings system, implemented by QS officially establishes “QS Global 200 Business Schools 2009: The Employers’ Choice to Facilitate the Hiring of Quality MBA Graduates.” By using employer preference rather than statistical data to judge a school’s quality, the QS study allows for smaller, private schools to be rated along with larger universities.

This marks the first time BSL receives a rating.

With only 70 European schools selected as part of the QS Top 200 Business Schools in the world, Switzerland prominently shows in terms of quality, with five schools ranking. In addition to BSL, the Swiss business schools listed among the best include HEC Lausanne, IMD Lausanne, St. Gallen University, and the University of Geneva.

The QS methodology used directors and HR managers with recruitment responsibilities at companies around the world to compile a list of the world’s Top 200 Business Schools, including 70 European schools. Employers were asked to use the list to vote for the schools offering the best in quality programs.

The full list of the Best European Business Schools, as well as the list of QS Top 200 worldwide, may be found by visiting the QS website.

QS is a leading global career and education network for professionals looking to further both their personal and professional development. With extensive contacts in the field of higher education, they have offices throughout the world in London, Paris, Singapore, Shanghai, Boston, Washington DC, Johannesburg and Alicante.

“We are very pleased to be in a ranking that reflects quality. Most rankings, such as the one by the FT, are based purely on statistics, which is why schools like ours usually get passed by.” - Philippe Du Pasquier, President BSL
