'Do it and do not wait until your job and family related pressure get too big'. Dr. Thomas Fischer, DBA 2009
Real Life DBA Stories
Dr. Thomas Fischer:
A recent graduate of the BSL DBA program, Swiss native Dr. Thomas Fischer is already feeling that his DBA increases his professional credibility and he feels that he is valued more based on his DBA. In choosing a program, Dr. Fischer was looking for a school with an international touch and a program that had a strong focus on practical results yet a foundation rooted in theory.
Undertaking a DBA in his forties with an already well-established career, Dr. Fischer fundamentally was looking for professional recognition. “It was important to me to get an academic approval of the research I had already done,” and admits that ego played an important role in his decision to return to study.
Dr. Fischer’s advice to prospective DBA candidates is to inform yourself of the choices available and select with whom you want to work. “Test your adviser, whether you two can work together and have a joint understanding of what is going to be written.”
