In 1987, Business School Lausanne was founded in Lausanne by Dr. John Hobbs. Teaching in another business school in the area at the time, Dr. Hobbs was not satisfied with the content of the business related subjects taught, judging them not practical and far too theoretical. For this reason, he decided to create his own business school and to realize his dream of providing practical education that can produce the successful business leaders of today and tomorrow. Dr. Hobbs hired highly qualified business practitioners with a passion for teaching to develop a new way of educating managers: pragmatic, interactive teaching in small groups, in a truly international atmosphere. These teaching elements still characterize BSL today.
